The USO (United Service Organizations) has been dedicated to supporting service members and their families since 1941. While the USO has stood with military families since its inception, in 2016 it launched a worldwide initiative focusing on programs to strengthen and empower military spouses by connecting them to their social, professional, and community networks. Additionally, in recent years, the USO has bolstered its military family programming, offering a wide-range of options serving the entire military family.
For military spouses, life is often full of changes. Moving across the country and around the world. Adapting to new communities and career challenges. Parenting children while your service member is deployed.
Fortunately, military spouses don’t have to navigate military life all on their own. As a military service nonprofit, the USO has supported service members and their families for more than 80 years.
The United Service Organizations (USO) is partnering with Veterati, a digital mentorship platform for the military community, to launch the USO Career Mentorship offering. This new resource will connect transitioning service members and military spouses with professionals in their industry of interest and help them navigate meaningful career paths.
For more than 60 years, legendary comedian Bob Hope traveled around the world supporting our nation’s service members and their families. Inspired by his dedication to the troops and their families, the USO founded the Bob Hope Legacy Reading Program in 2017. This program is largely driven by virtual, on-demand story time offerings, helping military families stay connected no matter where their service takes them.
