Would you say that making friends as an adult is really hard? What about making friends as a military spouse? Double whammy! Finding your group of friends can be difficult.
The USO’s got you!
We’re all human. We need community. We need connection. We need each other. And we want to support YOU.
The USO has strengthened the well-being of the people serving in America’s military and their families for over 80 years. We want to support the backbone of the military – military spouses like you – and help you find meaningful connections no matter where you are.
Experiencing the highs and navigating the lows of military life was never meant to be experienced alone.
Let us help connect you!
USO Coffee Connections
Turning every new place into a home after each PCS and struggling to meet new people over and over can get old really quick. Do you feel like no one else gets it? There’s comfort in knowing other Milspouses may feel like that too.
Coffee Connections bring military spouses together to build relationships… and did we mention free coffee? You can surround yourself with spouses who have experienced the same journey, such as packing up your house and using a cardboard box as a dining room table, or forgetting which zip code to use at the gas pump because you’ve moved so many times.
Or, if you’re like me, you can find your emergency contact for school or child care, find the best coffee shops or restaurants, or simply make a connection with someone who you can go on a walk with when you need fresh air.
Each Coffee Connections location puts their own spin on these events. Are games your thing? Yoga? Making Swiftie friendship bracelets, or maybe not so much? You’ll soon connect through conversation and find your community. Not only can you find friendships, but you may just help out a fellow Milspouse along the way. Together, you can tackle the challenges and embrace the opportunities that come with the military journey. Win-win.
Coffee Connections are happening worldwide almost every single day of the week. Rumor has it there are even a couple Galentine’s Day Bunco events. You can find one here.
USO Special Delivery: Presented by Johnson’s
Having a baby is one of life’s most joyous, terrifying, awe-inspiring occasions. (Can all these emotions coexist? Yes, anyone who has experienced pregnancy knows they can.) Are you expecting or recently had your own little bundle of joy? Let us throw you a baby shower!
Join us at one of USO Special Delivery events just for expectant active-duty moms and military spouses like you. We want to be your and your baby’s side. There will be games, prizes, treats and lots of information-sharing during these showers to make sure you feel celebrated during this huge milestone in your military family’s life.
Here, you can also find an invaluable support network. Maybe you’ll find someone with a due date close to yours. You’ll forever be connected by sharing this incredible bond no matter where military life ends up taking you.
Tracking the size of your baby, experiencing your first ultrasound, hearing the heartbeat, drinking the gross glucose drink, feeling as huge as a blimp, making your birth plan – these are among the rites of pregnancy passage. Our goal is that you would find an extended family wherever you serve to walk this precious time alongside you.
Growing a human is worth celebrating! You’ve earned it. This baby shower is open to expecting (pregnant) and new (6 months postpartum or less) moms. Come join the party near you.
USO Special Delivery presented by Johnson’s: Virtual Baby Shower
Super pregnant and don’t want to leave the house? Have a newborn and don’t want to trek outside? Feeling especially introverted and don’t want to put on makeup and real pants? Or is there no in-person baby shower available at your duty station?
Join us for a USO Special Delivery Virtual Baby Shower on February 8 at 8:30 p.m. ET. We want to celebrate you, your growing family, and your new little one. Grab your tech device of choice, keep your favorite stained stretchy pants on, and join other expectant and new military moms from the comfort of your own home.
You can connect virtually with other sleep-deprived moms around the world, share some laughs, and have the chance to win prizes. Why wouldn’t you want to go? The party takes place in your own living room, and you’re the guest of honor.
This event is open to expecting (pregnant) and new (6 months postpartum or less) moms. Join on Feb. 8 by registering here.
We’ve got tons of events planned in the coming months because they were planned with you in mind. We hope to see you at an upcoming event with a coffee in hand, a new Milspouse bestie attached at the hip and/or a baby in your arms.
And remember, the USO’s got you!
