4 Self Care Tips for Military Spouses

4 Self Care Tips for Military Spouses

It’s often been said that those who can’t do, teach. So, let me tell you what I can’t do. Relax. I’m told that it’s genetic—I’m like my grandmother, her mother before her, and so on. I come from a long, long line… of control freaks. Being a military spouse doesn’t seem like it would be compatible with being a control freak because our whole life seems to be one big change of plans.

However, it seems that there are more of us than you’d expect. I suppose the fact that we tend to be determined, goal-driven, laser-focused, (stubborn), and so on is a benefit to our lifestyle. Retirement: Another Bend in the Road

I will never forget that day—the day I knew our future was going to change. It was a windy overcast October day in 2013. My parents were visiting and had taken our five children to a movie, and I had the house to myself. At 4:30 p.m. I heard the garage door open.

He walked in the door and I could tell he wasn’t himself. He said he was going on a walk. I really didn’t give it much more thought. He sometimes just needed some quiet time to sort things out.

Newton’s Law of Emotions

Newton’s Law of Emotions

At some point in school, most students hear of Newton’s Laws of Motion. The third law is the most familiar: “For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.”

In my opinion, this law can also be applied to some of the emotions that take place within military life.
