Did you know… Our Mission: Milspouse Board of Directors has 119 years of combined total military experience!

Julie Cooley

Board President

Military Spouse, 18 years
Prior Active Duty Air Force, FT Air Guard
Currently Air Reserve
Bossier City, LA

Julie loves being a military spouse, an entrepreneur, an advocate, and a community leader. As a leader with Every Warrior, Julie worked to develop strategic plans and innovative leadership practices with a team of 20 lead volunteers and directors.

Julie’s advocacy efforts have helped to secure funding for military spouses to obtain transferable employment skills, and nationally has consulted on such projects as the Department of Labor project focusing on Military Spouse Occupational License Legislation implementation and best practices.

Julie is an avid volunteer serving on numerous boards and committees in each community she is located. As a Reserve spouse, she advocates for understanding and support of our Guard and Reserve families through leadership opportunities with organizations like Louisiana’s ESGR and is proud to serve as the lead for our local Military Spouse Professional Network with Hiring Our Heroes. As an Air Force mother, Julie focuses on taking care of our youngest and newest members as they transition into the military.

Sarah Robichaud

Board Secretary

Military Spouse, 12 years
Active-Duty Army
Rochester Hills, MI

Sarah is a Maryland native who married her husband, Andrew, in 2012. Since then, she has had the opportunity to live in Georgia (twice), Germany, Texas, Virginia, and now Michigan. Sarah holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Salisbury University and a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Liberty University.

The majority of Sarah’s time is spent rocking the stay-at-home-mom life with her two amazing children, Emily (7) and Logan (5). She also has two small dogs and an out-of-control vegetable garden. During her free time, you can probably find Sarah out for a jog or playing at the beach.

Chrissy Gibbs

Board Treasurer

Military Spouse, 12 years
Active-Duty Army
Grafenwoehr, Germany

Chrissy married her husband in 2010 and jumped right into her milspouse role. She knew that life would be more adventurous and sometimes more difficult, but it would always be worth it.

She had previously received her teaching degrees from Niagara University in Special Education and spent a few years teaching, but once she began having children, she chose to put those talents to work in her own home. Chrissy is a mother to four energetic boys and one husky pup (also a male), so you could say she’s the queen of the castle! Chrissy and her family are currently living in Germany!

In her free time, you can find her working out, at a playdate with close friends, on the hunt for the next geocache, or hiding away binge-watching her favorite guilty pleasure TV shows.

Chrissy has served on the Mission: Milspouse Command Team since 2020, first as Content Curator and now as Director of Development.

Kathleen Palmer

Interim Executive Director

Military Spouse, 25 years
Active-Duty Army
Washington D.C.

Kathleen is an educator and project seeker from Texas. In her 25 years as an Army spouse, Kathleen has taught and coached in six different states and Germany. Kathleen has a big heart for both Army families and soldiers, having served as a Soldier for Life counselor in both Germany and Korea. Her favorite part of Army life is her acquired community of battle buddies!

Kathleen loves words (both speaking and writing them) and has contributed to AWN, NMFA, The Fort Hood Sentinel, The Army Spouse Handbook, Inside Abu Ghraib, Memoirs of Two US Military Intelligence Officers, and The Army War College at Carlisle. Her favorite writing piece about being an Army wife is “The Lady in the Grey Suit” which was published in 2015 in Proud to Be: Writing by American Warriors (Vol.3).  You can find her on InstagramFacebook, or on her website, Life Is Messy, Love Big. Just like Kathleen, the site is a WORK in Progress!
