My husband and I are about knee deep in the middle of our first PCS, and with him in South Korea and me on Long Island, getting our life squared away to move to Fort Drum by the end of the summer has been proving difficult. One of the biggest hurdles to get over, for me, was finding a place to live, sight unseen, from many miles away.
I think it’s safe to say that most of my blogs are humorous in nature, because I love making people laugh, even if it means poking fun at myself. I wrote this letter to my son over the course of six months, and I finally got the courage to post it. I write about personal stuff all the time, but this blog is near and dear to my heart, because my son is my morning, noon, and night.
Even in the struggles I’ve had over the last month, I found myself hunting for the good.
As the school year winds down and the temperature goes up, parents may be both longing for and bracing themselves for the impact of summer vacation. Set yourself up for success by creating a summer schedule.
I probably should have written this blog for April, which was the Month of the Military Child, but I didn’t realize these things until yesterday.
A random Saturday.
This month, I’m going to share my secret PCS weapon with you. I remember being a young military spouse and having that first PCS come around. I felt so overwhelmed. Now, with five moves under my belt and a few more to come before we say goodbye to the Army, I’m a pro at making our PCS moves hassle free.
