Recently, my husband, Doug, and I walked to the nearby Starbucks with our dog, Billy. Seated on the patio, we tethered Billy to the leg of a chair and sat back to enjoy coffee, scones, sunshine, and people watching. Billy caught sight of another dog tethered only a few feet away. His leash was long enough for him to approach this new canine friend, but there was one problem—he was standing on his leash. Billy’s plight was out of Doug’s field of vision, so, with a chuckle, I said, “Billy wants to meet that dog, but he’s standing on his leash!”
I hear it a lot from my clients: “I hate interviewing.” I get it. Interviewing, especially when our lifestyle ebbs and flows so much, can be nerve wracking. The key to nailing your next interview is knowing how to prepare. I look at prepping for an interview a little bit like studying for an exam. If you start early and take it step-by-step, hopefully, your A+ on the exam will come in the form of an offer letter.

During your first PCS, you’re so overwhelmed from learning move.mil and jumping through all the hoops that you’re just trying to survive the chaos. You’ve also packed, loaded the car, and headed to the new house you worked hard to find and budget for. Your first thoughts driving across the country probably aren’t about renters insurance, but military families need renters insurance.
When you’re first starting out, you don’t know what you don’t know, right?
We hope that you’re ready to get back to entertaining and gathering with friends! That’s a large part of what makes life with the military fun and friendly! But, maybe there are some of you who never were at ease hosting parties and events in the past and are now starting to be concerned with the thought of the how-tos in hosting in the near future. These tips and ideas have worked for us and others, and we hope they will give you the confidence to perhaps host a unit coffee or backyard barbecue and find the joy in entertaining.
