U.S. Space Force: Innovative Recruitment Program – U.S. Space Force is turning heads for its innovative approach to hiring cyber officers. Commissary Home Delivery Pilot Program Sees Positive Results – The Defense Commissary Agency has been running a test pilot program called CLICK2GO at eight commissary locations. It offers grocery delivery to homes within 20 miles of the test commissary locations. This Week in History – The Air Force is celebrating the F-15 Eagle’s 50th birthday!

He interviewed Angela Francis, Commander of the JTWC. D-Day Pilot Turns 102 — D-Day pilot, Harry Gamper, turned 102 on July 20th and he celebrated with a bang! Gamper “served as an Royal Air Force pilot in WWII and won medals for his service in France and Germany.” This Week in History — On July 27, 1953, the US, the Korean People’s Army and the Chinese People’s Volunteer Army signed the Korean Armistice Agreement, ending three years of fighting the Korean War.

Each year nearly 37,000 sailors separate from the Navy which has recently been scrutinized for severe delays in issuing separation orders and DD-214 forms which provide proof of military service and determining eligibility for benefits. But they’re not keeping up. Air Force Debuts Healthy Cooking Show: “The Air Force has launched an entertaining program to show its airmen and women, and their families, how to eat [healthier], and like it,” announced Federal News Network. Service Members of the Year Announced: The Military Times Foundation announced the Service Members of the Year awards for 2022. This Week in History: On July 25, 1943 – The first Navy ship named for an African-American, USS Harmon (DE 678), was launched.

NASA Reveals Spectacular Images from Webb Telescope – One of my favorite images is nicknamed “Cosmic Cliffs” because it looks like an brownish-orange mountain range at night, with a deep blue sky and sparkling stars. But a closer read explains that baby stars are being formed. This Week in History – Since we’re talking NASA, a throw back to July 20, 1969 to the first moon landing! Astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin set foot on the moon.

Ukraine is Holding Defensive Position Against Russia – U.S. Officials announced that “The Russians are making ‘slow and uneven advances’ through northern Ukraine.” Air Force Slowing NCO Promotions – The Air Force announced that it will be promoting fewer NCOs over the next two years to “help resolve its recent workforce challenges, such as rebuilding institutional knowledge in a young and understaffed maintenance corps,” reported Air Force Times. Army Drops High School Diploma and GED Requirement – The Army has temporarily dropped its high school diploma or GED requirements to address an “escalating recruiting crisis hitting the entire Defense Department,” reported Military.com.
