November brings a season of family time, football, comfort foods, and gratitude.
We are so thankful for you—our network, our people, our tribe. You are a blessing to all of us here at AWN, and yes, you are the reason we keep doing what we do, day after day, week after week, season after season.
This year, we want to say thank you, by inviting you to think about your own blessings, and help you create a gratitude tree that can take center stage throughout the Thanksgiving holiday.
According to research, practicing gratitude can help decrease negative thoughts and stress, and increase happiness. There is so much good in each day, but we are usually just too distracted to see it. So let’s spend some time this month thinking about all the blessings in our lives!
We have designed this pretty gratitude tree for you to use, but you can always just write down your blessings on post-its, or just thinking about them will do the trick!
Gratitude Tree Directions:
- Print both images (tree and leaves).
- Cut out the leaves. I find it to be therapeutic to cut them out while watching TV.
- Hang the tree on a wall. (If you’re feeling fancy, you could always frame it!)
- Each day in November, write something you are grateful for on a leaf, and tape it to the tree.
- “I’m thankful for…”
- “I am thankful I can…”
- “I am thankful I get to…”
- “I can help others by…”
- Admire the beauty of counting each of your blessings.
