You aren’t alone in trying to build your community, your network, your tribe, and finding friendships! Join Jolene in this video as she talks about two areas that she’s working on that might be helpful for you, too: both thought process and a proactive approach to connecting with people we meet.

Using psychologist, Martin Seligman’s, Three Ps, we can work to change our thought process through:

1. Personalization: The belief that we are at fault

2. Pervasiveness: The belief that an event will affect all areas of our life

3. Permanence: The belief that the aftershocks of the event will last forever

Once we’ve worked on adjusting our mindset, it’s time to step out! Be proactive in reaching out to your community, plan play dates or meet ups at a local coffee shop. Open your home for barbeques, playdates or hosting a Bible study. Don’t be afraid to accept help…and be open to offering help, too.
