With heavy rain falling outside, our military family chose to stay in and enjoy a cozy Friday night at home. Fixing a bowl of buttery popcorn and filling our cups with bubbly soda, we made our nest in the family room to watch a movie. Noticing the puddle of water forming on the floor, my husband was drawn to the corner of the room to inspect the area, where he found a steady dripping leak. As he reached up to lightly touch the suddenly stained ceiling, a large portion of soggy drywall came flopping down onto the bookshelf below. While rushing over to rescue our books and mementos, I exclaimed, “Better call the landlord!”
7 Military Spouse Goals for 2018
I don’t like Ne Year’s resolutions. A resolution is a firm decision to do or not do something and results in a black and white pass or fail. If our intention is to incite change in our lives, there has to be room for error, which is why I like the word “goals.” A goal is the object of a person’s ambition or effort, which means you achieve success every time you make forward progress.

3 Questions to Ask When Moving to a New Area
We commit to more than a piece of property when we find a new home; we also commit to the neighborhood. That’s why it’s vital that we spend as much time researching the area as we do a home when we househunt, which isn’t always easy when you get orders to a brand new duty station.
Easy Ways to Get Ready for Back-to-School
Shopping for back-to-school supplies isn’t the way it used to be, that’s for sure. Yes, some schools still send home sheets of specific items for your child’s use, but other methods are showing up too.
Believe it or not, they might even be easier than shopping for an itemized list of 25 things.
3 Smart Features to Set Your Listing Apart
Driving around our neighborhood, my spouse and I noticed a good number of houses for sale. With PCS season bringing military moves, the market seems busier than usual. While preparing to list our home, we’re looking for ways to make our property stand out.
