Life Unexpected

This year seems to have slowly become more difficult as time goes by. I can say with complete certainty that it will get more difficult before too much longer. The best way to describe what has happened and what will happen is overwhelming, exhausting, and unexpected. The last few months have been wrought with worry, stress, and pain.

My grandmother became ill.

The Struggle of Communication

When my son was around 18 months old, I started to worry about his ability to communicate. By the age of 2, it became an even larger concern, as most kids by that age are able to say around 50 words and string together a sentence or two. By 2, he had less than 20 words in his vocabulary and struggled to communicate with us. I wondered if I should get an evaluation with a speech therapist, but being that he’s my first child, I wasn’t sure if what was going on was normal.

The Journey Ahead: Focusing On Health

Happy 2019! I hope you’re having a great start to this new year. And my, oh my, how quickly this first month of the year is already going. In my last post, I talked about some of the changes I’m going through. I have started my journey to a better self and better health and have met some challenges along the way. I was at my heaviest weight around October of last year. Since then, some things have come to my attention that I believe are related to that.

The Journey Ahead

The Journey Ahead

This year has had many changes and challenges, and I never anticipated the journey ahead.

I had my second baby, and along with that came extra weight. I was lucky enough not to go through postpartum depression again, but with the ever-changing daily life and adjustment to having two small children, I wasn’t eating well and used food for stress relief, because, well…. being a stay-at-home parent, my options for stress relief are limited.

Slow Down and Smell the Roses

Slow Down and Smell the Roses

It’s hard to believe we’re approaching the last month of 2018 already! This year has gone by so quickly that it almost seems as though it was just the beginning not so long ago. Sometimes, it makes me think we need to slow down a little.

The Changing Season of Life

The Changing Season of Life

When I think about autumn, I think about the colder days ahead of us. How summer has suddenly turned into chilly mornings and the leaves on the trees are beginning to change their shades and fall to the ground. Pumpkin everything is in season, and it’s hard to leave the house without being bundled up in a jacket or heavy sweater.
