Vacation All I Ever Wanted: Part 2

Vacation All I Ever Wanted: Part 2

If you’re anything like my military family, vacations seem to be few and far between. Maybe even nonexistent.

And if you’re anything like my military family, your “vacations” usually consist of going to visit family members whenever you have a chance, rather than going anywhere else. You can read more about my experience here.

101 Things to do Before Your Kids Leave Home

I was recently browsing at the bookstore and found a book called, 101 Things You Should Do Before Your Kids Leave Home, by David Bordon and Tom Winters. I like to find new things to do with my kids, especially when it comes to a good way to make memories, so this book stood out to me.

If you’re anything like us, you often spend what extra leave time you might have visiting family. And, if you’re anything like us, you might have come to realize that pretty much all the leave your partner takes turns into”‘vacations” visiting your family.

Since my husband and I have the majority of our family within driving radius, we spend all our leave time, and now four-day vacations, visiting.

When I think about what the future holds, the only phrase that comes to mind at the moment is Warrant School.

My husband has been planning to apply to become a warrant officer, and this year, he finally put in a packet to hopefully become part of the selection process. I’m partially excited, since he’s been talking about doing this for years now, but also partially terrified.

Baby Showers and Birthday Parties

This month we celebrated my son’s second birthday, as well as the soon-to-be new addition to our family.

We took advantage of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend and celebrated both occasions the same day. Though they were both early celebrations, it’s tiring being eight months pregnant and traveling, along with planning a birthday party, while also getting ready for another newborn.
