As summer turns to fall, it seems like the world gets ready to go back to school. When was the last time you joined in the back-to-school excitement for your own education, not just as a support to children or a spouse? If getting or finishing an education has been on your bucket list, there’s no time like the present to hit the books and accomplish your dreams.
Everyone loves a good BBQ or cookout, and it seems like Memorial Day weekend has become the official launch of the summer food season. You see grilling segments on the news, picnic and barbecue products on sale at the stores, and recipes galore to serve at your outdoor celebrations.
We all love a picnic, but before you hang your decorations, plan the menu, and send out invitations, take a moment to reflect on what Memorial Day actually is.
When I became a mother for the first time, I felt like my life had been flipped upside down.
Facebook recently reminded me of this truth with a status I posted three years ago when I birthed my daughter. It went something like this: “I’ve decided that becoming a mother is like trying to land a 747 in a blizzard. It’s difficult, scary, and uncertain, but in the end, I hang on tight, knowing that most planes make it safely onto the runway without crashing. Right?”
Let’s just say my daughter and I got off to kind of a rocky start.
It’s an age-old dilemma. You need to earn more money, but to do that you need to get a better job. In order to get a better job, you need to go back to school. But to go back to school, you need to be able to pay for tuition. In order to pay tuition, you need to earn more money.
So how do you overcome this particular dilemma?
