Is it really October? I mean, How is that humanly possible, because I swear, I was just giving thanks for January yesterday.
Nine months of thankfuls down, only three to go. Missed previous months? I’ve got you covered: January, February, March, April, May, June, July, and August.
Here’s my September:
1. Zantac: So, I’m pregnant, and just like with my first child, I have heartburn from Hell. If it weren’t for Zantac, I’d probably cry myself to sleep more often than I do already.
2. Pet Smart: Thank God there are people in this world who do things like cut dog nails and brush dog teeth, because I can’t. I tried it, and my dog has already threatened to end my life if I did it again.
3. Orange juice: I look at it longly, because even Zantac can’t save me from that heartburn. I miss you, orange juice.
4. Prescription medicine: Because the world would be so much grosser. (That’s a word, right? #toolazytogoogleit)
5. Nintendo DS: Someone has to take care of my child when I have had it with parenting.
6. iPhone apps: See #5.
7. Room service: There is no better way to wake up than to food. Trust me.
8. Fall TV: I can’t tell you how excited I am for Blacklist, and Scandal, and How To Get Away With Murder, and Sons of Anarchy, and Gotham, and Saturday Night Live, and, and…
9. New York City: Every time I go home, I’m so glad to be there. And every time I leave, I am so glad to be leaving. I love New York.
10. Taxis: You haven’t lived until you are nearly killed in a New York City taxi. (Right, Mary?) What. A. Ride.
11. Interstate highways: I remember when I used to live near an interstate. Those were some good times. Now? I live about two hours away from the closest interstate in lower Alabama, and I always seem to get stuck behind that one person going 45 miles per hour on a two-lane road.
12. Airports: Because airplanes need a home.
13. Lint rollers: Whenever I wear black, my white dog always feels the need to be close to me. Always. And that’s usually the only time he rubs on me like a cat.
14. Torrid: Hooray clothes!
15. Field Exercises: The Army Wife Network kind. I have so much fun with my AWN girls, and I can’t wait for the next one at Fort Sill in November!
16. Brooms: I would have a heck of a time sweeping my porch without one.
17. Nails (the hammer-in-the-wall kind): I would have a heck of a time hanging up most of the stuff I put on my wall without them.
18. Nails (the manicured kind): How would you even be able to open a can of Coke or scratch an itch without them? I mean, it would be possible but not pleasant.
19. Thermometers : For obvious reasons.
20. Wedding anniversaries: Remembering the day you got married and all that’s transpired since? It’s a nice dose of nostalgia. (Happy anniversary, Tom!)
21. Nice hotels: I went to New York for my brother’s wedding, and the hotel we stayed at was super swanky. And they were filming The Following in the hotel lobby. How cool is that?
22. Baby showers: My AWN girls (and best friend, Mary) conspired to throw me my first baby shower, and it melted my cold and unfeeling heart. I didn’t have a baby shower with my firstborn, because I just didn’t have anyone in my life who cared. This time around? Things are so different, and for that, I am thankful.
23. Having a nurse for a best friend: Matthew, my son, was sick, and the first thing I did was contact Mary to confirm what I needed to do to get him better. That woman? Is so much more than a pretty face.
24. Leggings: I wore leggings for the first time recently. Why do people wear pants with buttons and zippers? Too complicated. Not stretchy enough.

25. Memes: Because LOL.
26. Ultrasound machines: I got to see the baby in my belly, and it was amazing. My son came with me, and he was so excited about seeing his future brother.
27. Payless: My most favorite shoe store ever in the history of life.
28. Emojis: When words fail you, the hammer and punch emojis really do the trick.
29. Wildflowers: My son, bless him, loves to pick flowers for me. I always tell him that if someone took the time to plant the flowers, we should just look at them and appreciate them. Because I am no gardener or landscaper, we have wildflowers (read: weeds) in the backyard, and Matthew likes to wake me up with flowers he picked for me. I just love that!
30. Having my hair played with: There is nothing like having your hair played with when you’re watching TV. There’s just so much goodness going on at the same time.

Maybe it’s the Zantac that’s melting your cold and unfeeling heart? Three mentions (plus I’m taking credit – ahem- #21) in one post? *Swoon* ATLIATW
