You have probably heard that your military experience has positioned you for a civilian job when you get out. Most of you can assume that to be true, as long as you set your expectations correctly and put in the work to get that job.
But will it be the best job for you?
Almost daily, I see grammar and spelling errors, either in documents, emails, messaging, or on social media. You may think these errors are insignificant, but when applying for a job and corresponding with a recruiter or future employer, grammar and spelling mistakes can disqualify you from the position.
Here are the most common errors I see and how to fix them:
School is back in full swing for most of us. I’m one of those parents who loves when school starts back. Not because two of my three children will be out of the house for more than six hours each day (although that’s a slight bonus).
I love back to school because it’s a fresh start, and I love seeing my children grow and learn so many new things.

School will be starting soon for our kids. I have worked in schools for the past few years as an aide and as a teacher. While parents are buying school supplies, filling out paperwork, and making sure that their kids have all they need to head back to school, teachers are also busy.
I’ve been in a funk. A slump. A professional job pitfall. I’ve applied to more than 150 jobs in a year. I’ve interviewed a handful of times. No second interviews. No offers.
