I recently had to enroll this adorable little guy in day care. I know it was the right thing to do—my current classes are pretty difficult, Chris has a bunch of training events coming up, and I’ll be starting a new internship in May, but the second I signed my name on the enrollment sheet, it hit me.

Are you ready for Spring Break, or are you dreading it, like me? Don’t get me wrong, I love spending time with my children and having my service member take a week off from work, but all the planning and money spending that goes with Spring Break overwhelms me sometimes. This year, I took a different approach and decided we would have a Spring Break Staycation.
My husband is an infantryman.
I believe he chose this MOS because of the opportunity to serve, the thrill factor, and the challenge that comes with boots-on-the-ground-kicking-in-doors-and-taking-names.
Plus, he loves the color blue.
Recently, however, I have learned another interesting piece of his genetic service member make-up.
Ah, February. The month of love and candy and stuff. I’ve never been a fan of Valentine’s Day, mostly because taking a special day to tell people that you love them seems really silly. Shouldn’t we be sharing love and kindness every day?
Two weeks ago I was in a great mood as I left my office. I was driving home, and I didn’t to come to a complete stop at a stop sign. Just coming from Korea, most of us know that road signs and signals are considered “optional” over there, and these bad habits, well… they carry over back to the states.
So, you can imagine that I was not even remotely surprised when I saw the flashing red and blue lights come out behind me.
