“Come to yoga,” they said.
“It’ll help you unwind,” they said.
“It doesn’t matter that you can barely touch your toes,” they said.
Fun fact: Yoga is much more enjoyable when you’re flexible; don’t believe the hype!

Even under the best of circumstances, striking a balance between “real life” and focusing on health and fitness is no easy task. Fold in military spouse life, and it kicks that challenge up a notch!
This category will give you insight from a milspouse perspective, including workouts, celebrating victories (large and small), and how to put your health as a priority, no matter what milspouse life throws your way.
Trust us. These great resources will make you “sit-up” and take notice. Don’t “weight” too long or “waist” any time. “Run” through these blogs. We are serious. “Jump” to it.
PS: Don’t skip leg day.

We are entering the joyous time of the year when the demands on your time increase and the fitness training slips. You must rely upon some good time management.
The following are useful words for the novice and refreshers for the advanced.
I worry about the strangest things.
My husband is forever shaking his head (and maybe even rolling his eyes) over some of the stuff I get worked up about. We even have a favorite movie scene that gets bantered back and forth between us:
One barrier to a successful fitness program is motivation. There’s one solution at your fingertips, however, and that’s finding someone to join in the program so you can push each other. You don’t have to run alone. I’m sure you have no problem finding someone to go on a shopping trip with you.
Well, my friends, in the musical words of Whitesnake: “Here I go again.” Yep. It’s almost deployment go-time. (Feel free to audibly boo and hiss with me.)
But, as with all challenges in military spouse life, there is good news. Although this will be our first deployment with two kids, this isn’t our first deployment rodeo (Whew!). Of course, my brain has been cranked at full speed the last few weeks as we get ready for departure, and as I was running the other day, I realized that all this prep was like training for a marathon.
In the spirit of inspiration this month, I caught up with Elyse Braner of Arlington, Virginia.
Elyse seems to be everywhere, donating her time. She is a runner, running coach, and leader of Girls on the Run DC. I like to think of Elyse as being the person who does not conform to regular training runs, but seeks creativity in order to make things better for those she encounters.
