On this week’s empowering episode of Army Wife Talk Radio, we’re chatting with guest, LeAnna Brown about Economical Excursionists.

A Visit Home
I’m currently back in my home state of Indiana, visiting with family. My husband is PCSing to Korea next month, (you can read more about that here), and we decided a visit home was incredibly overdue. So far, we get to come back to the Midwest about once a year, so it’s always nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of installation living every now and again.
Staycations Around Your Duty Station
Military and civilian families from coast to coast have either gone or are preparing for their much anticipated (and often much needed!) summer vacations. Most of the time, we spend months planning for our trips, especially if they’re far away. But, sometimes, a vacation to a distant land isn’t viable. Summertime is also the time of the year that boasts the most expensive rates for flights and vacation packages. My husband and I try to plan on big vacations during the off-season, just to save some bucks in our big trips. Staycations are in the cards for many this year.
5 Ways to Enjoy the Outdoors
At the beginning of March, the Washington, D.C. area was attacked by snow. I don’t know about you, but I’m over the cold weather. I’m ready to put on shorts and short-sleeve shirts and enjoy everything the spring (and summer) months bring in the great outdoors.
Beaches Galore at Presidio
If duty calls you to Presidio of Monterey, you’re heading to paradise! Sandy beaches, a vibrant community, and a multitude of attractions and amenities are waiting for you. The post is located near the ocean! Pebble Beach is a must-see, of course, with its world-famous golf course and beautiful coastline. Garrapata Beach is also a great option for observing local wildlife. There are over 110 species of birds living in this coastal woodland.
When on Fort Hamilton, Do What Locals Do
Whether you are visiting Fort Hamilton for the weekend, on PCS, or calling it home for the next few years, there are a variety of activities and places to visit in the Brooklyn neighborhood. The trouble will be deciding what to do first. Home to over 2.5 million people, Brooklyn is a cultural epicenter. And because of this diversity, Brooklyn has many interesting things to offer.
