Upstate New York…48 miles up the road from the epicentre of stage and threatre lies a little town that is known less for its artists and more for its soldiers.
It is a town that has produced some of the gresatest military leaders in our country’s history.
But perhaps it has also taken a step toward producing the stories of the spouses who have stood by those great leaders for generations.
Highland Falls, New York has a little of everything.
It has the storied USMA, picturesque winding roads, a cool irish pub at the South Gate, and “in between” the hills of the Hudson Valley, a place where military spouses found themselves in*Between as well.
This was the second staged reading of Veteran Spouse Projects’s powerful play called in*Between.
It is a play written by military spouse and playwright. Amy Upgraft and her Heart to Script class.
As in Tennesse, the New York show was performed by professional actors who traveled up from NYC with their talents, stamina, and their incredicle portrayals of monologues written by Amy and her class.
The play was received well by the New York audience made up of military spouses, soldiers, cadets, and community members.
The words shared after the show ranged from “Raw” to ” Eye Opening”.
You can see all the reactions HERE. You can also tune in HERE to the local newscast that shows the actors and the writers in action before the performance.
