$7.1M Awarded to Three Army Vets in 3M Earplug Lawsuit
Three Army veterans were awarded $7.1 million in damages from 3M, who “failed to warn about design flaws in earplugs”, reported Military.com. “More than 230,000 service personnel have sued 3M … claiming that the manufacturer knew its Combat Arms earplugs were defective and yet sold them anyway without warnings.” 3M has responded saying that it will appeal the decision.
First Woman to Serve as Command Sgt. Maj. for a U.S. Army Division
Command Sgt. Maj. Veronica Knapp is the first woman to become a command sergeant major of a U.S. Army division. She assumed the role of the 101st Airborne Division late last month reported Army Times.
Air Force Creating ‘Hotspots’ on KC-46 Refueling Planes
The Air Force is working on a new system called Advanced Battle Management System which will operate from KC-46 refueling planes. “Officials say they plan to turn some of the first KC-46s … into flying ‘hotspots’ that can offload new data to F-22 and F-35 fighters at the same time they’re receiving fuel,” reported Federal News Network.
