One of the most challenging aspects of the military spouse life is preparing for an upcoming PCS or if you get the chance, potentially picking a new duty station. There is a lot of information out there, and it can be almost overwhelming.

We here at Army Wife Network want to take the some of the guesswork out of the need-to-knows about duty stations around the globe. Hence, our Post With the Most series. In this particular blog, we will be showcasing information related to Fort Benning, Georgia.

Fort Benning has appeared in numerous films and documentaries including Black Hawk Down, We Were Soldiers, and Your Mother Wears Combat Boots.

Weather: Typical southeast weather patterns are the norm in Fort Benning. Winter (end of november to mid-February) brings temperatures between 30 and 60 degrees, while you can expect 50 to 70 degree temperatures in both spring and winter. Summer (mid-May to mid-september) will reach between 70 and 90. The biggest weather threat is tornados and hurricanes. Hurricane season is from August to November. Tornadoes are most prevalent March through May.
