Thanksgiving is approaching, which means your family may be coming to visit. While you may be on fabulous terms with your in-laws, finding it difficult to spend extended periods of time together is not uncommon. So, how do you make it through a visit from your in-laws?

One of the most important parts of supporting your service member as they serve our country is “holding down the fort” (See also: running a smooth, loving, and supportive home life for you and your family, while keeping all things going in your service member’s absence). Easy peasy, right? Sometimes, not so much.
With this category, we cover everything behind the scenes, such as organization, communication, marriage, parenting, overcoming trials, and just some good ole fashioned humor.
Join us as we embark on figuring out the home-life balance as a milspouse and find ways to thrive and excel! No matter what your life at home looks like, one of our Experience Bloggers or Command Team members has probably been in a similar situation and is here to share their triumphs, lessons, and laughs along the way.
A Year of Thanks: October
Yep. Still giving thanks every month. I can’t believe it either. I’ve had this going since January (February, March, April, May, June, July, August, and September, too), and I have two months left. It’s been a heck of a year, to say the least.

Relieving Stress with Pumpkin Bread
One of my favorite things to do when I am stressed is bake. It tends to calm my soul. Focusing on something other than reality for a short time is what I need to remain sane. Baking provides that escape. My current recipe for stress relief is pumpkin bread. Pumpkin is one of my favorite fall flavors, and today, I’m going to share with you my Aunt’s Perfect Pumpkin Bread.
Something a Little “Supernatural”
Halloween is so close I can taste it. It’s not my most favorite of holidays, but there is something about it that is near and dear to my heart. Now, I am going to be a fangirl and sound a little bit obsessed, but I literally cannot help myself. It was only a matter of time before I decided to blog about this, but given the wonderful month of October, I think this post’s subject matter is quite appropriate and perfect considering.
