Feeling stuck. Been there? Currently there?
I’ve been feeling stuck since January, longer really, but some circumstances since January have me feeling trapped. These are big decisions that don’t have right or wrong answers.

How many times have you searched the internet for the perfect training program? How did that work for you?
There are hundreds of programs, and the difficult part is finding one that matches your goals. In order to set your goals, you have to find a purpose. You can assess where you are today and where you want to be tomorrow, and then you determine what it will take to get there.
A few years ago, I led a conference session for military spouses who were about to be reunited with their deployed loved ones. In one of the discussions I asked, “What’s the first thing you thought of when you found out your partner was coming home?”
There’s one phrase I heard thousands of times growing up: “Stop fighting with your sister!” My younger sister and I were 18 months apart and as different as night and day. This apparently is the perfect recipe for near-constant fight-like-cats-and-dogs conflict.
I only have a few specific memories of kindergarten, but I’m pretty sure I know why this particular one stuck around.
One day, my friend Amy and I were playing inside a gray stand-alone tube on the playground. It was just a tube, and I have no recollection of what was so fun about it, but it was big enough for two little kindergarteners to hide inside and that’s exactly what we chose to do. When the recess whistle blew, we didn’t hear it, and our class left without us. In fact, all of the classes left the playground by the time we got bored with playing in that tube.
Along our journey through life, we meet different people who all have something in common—a desire to excel and run after goals, and I mean literally run. To be determined, not deterred.
This month, I want to introduce you to Rochelle Sceats-Basil, as she shares her thoughts and desires. Her chosen sport is running, but remember that sports are still sports even when running isn’t involved. Last month’s column about golf is a great example of this!
