November makes me get a bit more serious about gratitude. Why don’t I instill a daily ritual, reminding myself of the gifts I have every day? Did you know that gratitude can have lasting benefits for your health?
Maybe that will be my New Year’s resolution! For now, I’m happy to focus on giving thanks in anticipation of Turkey Day.

There’s an epidemic in the military community, one in need of help.
There are plenty of inconveniences about this life, and God forbid, I complain about them. Typically, every military spouse has heard, “Well, you knew what you were getting into…” at least once. But who really knows everything that lies ahead when you marry a service member?
November is usually the time of year when people consider all that they have to be thankful for. We begin to express our gratitude for the important people in our lives and all the things that make our lives enjoyable. With all the ups and downs that come with military life, we sometimes need to take a step back to find the positive and this time of year is the perfect time to do it.
When taking a deeper look, there are plenty of things to be thankful for in this military journey that civilian life just can’t provide.
Have you ever had a caricature of yourself made? I’ve had two caricatures so far in my life and think they’re so fun with the little details the artists pick up on.
The second one still hangs in my best friend’s parents’ home since we are both in the drawing. Actually, we are identical in the drawing, except the artist gave me sideburns. There’s a detail, all right. Wow. Let’s chalk it up to that it was windy and my hair may have been a mess!
