Hello, military spouses! It’s my absolute honor to join Army Wife Network as a blogger. Major shout-out to the amazing group of highly talented, diversified, and passionate AWN team members that continue to inform, encourage, and empower our military community.
As I sit here at my archaic desktop in my cozy basement, criss-cross-applesauce, I’m enamored with gratitude.
Grateful that all four of our boys are fast asleep.
Growing up is hard to do.
I’m not just talking about the awkward seasons of puberty (ugh!) or those painful moments of high school. It isn’t all about those puff paint shirts or the bird-nest bangs in every school picture.
Growing up as a military spouse is no easy task.
Oh my, oh dear! How can that be?
Another month has passed
I am not sure how this can be true,
It was just September and now it is not.
Oh my, oh my! How that month flew!
When I think about autumn, I think about the colder days ahead of us. How summer has suddenly turned into chilly mornings and the leaves on the trees are beginning to change their shades and fall to the ground. Pumpkin everything is in season, and it’s hard to leave the house without being bundled up in a jacket or heavy sweater.
For the most part, milspouse life is pretty great. There’s new adventures, great people, lessons to learn, places to see, things to do… But of course, it isn’t all roses, sunshine, and puppy dog tails. In my personal opinion, one of the most uncool parts of military life are those pesky see-ya-laters that crop up when facing a TDY or deployment.
From an outside view, it’s sometimes easy to look upon our service members in a strictly matter-of-fact, all-business-all-the-time fashion. I know that I myself find so many aspects of military culture intimidating at times. However, today I’m sharing a sneak peek into the secret behind-the-scenes life of our military family. Everything is not so serious all of the time. Thank goodness! Today, I bring you The Secret Life of Boot Snakes!
