Let the grand adventure continue!

Oh, what a week it has been! As a military spouse, the days leading up to J’s deployment have been a grand whirlwind of emotions and activities. I can hardly believe how quickly time has flown by, but I am so grateful for all the memories we have made together.

grandJ and I have always been adventurous souls, and since we found out he is deploying, we have been determined to make the most of our time together.

We have been going on all sorts of little getaways, from hiking in the mountains to lounging on the beach. It’s been such a blast, and I’m so glad we’ve been able to have these experiences together before he departs.

It is important to make the most of our time together.

One thing that I have learned during this experience is that time is so valuable, especially when you’re a military spouse. Sometimes people who aren’t affiliated with the military don’t understand just how precious time can be.

That’s why I’ve made it a priority to put any extra plans on hold and spend as much one-on-one time with J as possible. Even if it means being the bad guy and saying no to some weekend outings with friends, it’s worth it to me to soak in all the time I can with him.

Speaking of spending quality time together, we have a little vacation planned for the weekend before he deploys. We’re headed down to a beautiful beach in South Carolina, where we plan to just relax, soak up the sun, and be present with each other. It’s going to be such a lovely little getaway, and I’m really looking forward to it.

Know when it is time to lean in for support.

One of the things I absolutely adore about being a military spouse is the incredible support system we have. Whether it’s the other military spouses I’ve met or my J’s coworkers, I know that there are always people I can turn to when things get tough.

Military life can be so unpredictable, but with a supportive community around me, I feel like I can handle anything that comes our way.

And, of course, there’s the grand adventure of it all.

Yes, there are challenges and sacrifices that come with being a military spouse, but there are also so many incredible experiences and memories to be made. I know that even though this deployment will be tough, my husband and I will come out the other side with a renewed appreciation for each other and a deep sense of pride in his service to our country.

So, as the days tick by and my husband’s departure draws nearer, I am filled with a mix of emotions. But mostly, I am grateful for all the time we’ve had together and excited for all the adventures that lie ahead.

Let the grand adventure continue!
