Qualifying Life events? TRICARE has you covered!

What do moving, getting married, having a baby, and retiring from active duty have in common? They’re all  TRICARE Qualifying Life Events, also known as QLEs. QLEs can affect your TRICARE coverage.

Be a Part of the TRICARE Webinar

Join TRICARE Thursday, Aug. 22, from 3 to 4 p.m. ET for the “Moving, Marriage, and More: What  TRICARE QLEs Mean for You” webinar. The webinar will be held via Microsoft Teams Live

“The type of QLE you have determines how your available health plan options change,” said Zelly Zim, a  health systems specialist with the TRICARE Health Plan Policy & Programs Branch at the Defense Health  Agency.

“These enrollment changes depend on who you are and your current plan. So it’s important to know  what counts as a QLE and what to do if you or a family member has one.”

As noted in the TRICARE Qualifying Life Events Fact Sheet, you can make eligible changes to your TRICARE  health plan within 90 days of a QLE.

If you have a TRICARE Prime or TRICARE Select plan, a QLE may  be your only opportunity to change your plan outside of TRICARE Open Season

During the webinar, you’ll learn the various types of changes that count as QLEs. TRICARE experts will  walk you through some of the most common QLEs. These include:

The presenters will share how these life changes may affect your eligibility. They’ll also outline steps to  take after you or a family member has a QLE. You’ll have a chance to ask questions after the presentation.
