As we near the end of August, many things are happening. School is starting again for many parents and students. Summer is starting to come to its end to bring cooler weather, and the year is quickly (more quickly than I can believe sometimes) nearing its end. Though all of these things are happening, for some people, the holidays are still a distant thought among the general everyday chaos.
The National Memorial Day Concert: Photo Blog
Remember that saying, “A picture is worth a thousand words?” Well, I think it’s true. I was recently privileged to attend The National Memorial Day Concert in Washington, D.C., and today, I want to share some of the most photogenic moments.
How the National Memorial Day Concert Changed Me

On the 10th Week of Deployment, Murphy Gave to Me…
left on Christmas Day.

I know we aren’t alone in that situation, but the logic of “other people are dealing with it too” is often lost on children when all they really want in front of the fireplace on Christmas morning is their deployed parent.
