The Best Version of Ourselves

It’s the beginning of a new year. Rather than making a list of resolutions, let’s try to work towards being the best version of ourselves.  I’d say that goal is on half of the nations’ list.

We have all worked on it.  We actually want to feel better in our skin, physically and emotionally.

So, here’s the top 5 things that I will revisit to begin the year off right.

  1. Move. Walk, run, stretch, swim, bike.  Doesn’t matter. Do something. Try for every day. Bonus if you do it outside. When you can’t move, DO NOT BEAT YOURSELF UP! Forgive yourself. Tomorrow is another day.
  2. Breathe. Walk outside and take a deep breath. Blow it out. Do it as many times as feels good. AHHH, fresh air.
  3. Eat. Think about how the foods you eat make you feel. When you recognize which foods make you feel the best, choose to eat those.  AND… put your phone down when you eat and enjoy your meal.
  4. Connect. Meet with friends, make a call, or at the least, say hello when you pass someone in the store. Humans need other humans. Have a girl’s night, family night, game night, or a Zoom.  Whatever. Make it happen.  Connection feeds our soul.
  5. Lastly, volunteer. We all feel the best when we are helping others. Think of one of your favorite places to be, organizations, or churches and sign up to volunteer. You will meet new people and feel better while volunteering together.
Here’s to a great start to 2024!
