I love November. It is a really fun, and cozy time of the year. There are so many wonderful memories I have associated with this time. And that’s easy, because this season is completely full of time spent with loved ones, family, and friends. One of my favorite things to do around this time of year is just to go on walks.
I love going for walks around my time. I spent my entire life in my hometown, so I know it extremely well. The town, the environment, the places, the people, they are all very special to me.
What’s almost as special is how pretty nature is around this time. It’s a bit of a catch-22, because while the leaves turn brown and orange, they look really pretty.
But they also wither away and fall off. But just that image alone, piles and piles of leaves crowding childhood sidewalks, I bet that brought up some nostalgia for you.
Jumping into a crisp and crunchy bunch of leaves as a kid, with your oversized winter jacket, and probably a pair of gloves and a hat.
Speaking of, this time of year starts to get really chilly.
Unless you live in New York, where last week we had a week of weather in the mid 60s, but the less said about that the better. It’s annoying when it’s really cold, but it’s also fun to dress up and style yourself for the cold weather.
My winter fashion sense is way better than my summer fashion sense for instance, because it’s so much easier to accessorize and wear good-looking clothes.
I found a vintage jacket earlier this year that I got at my old college, and I have been wearing it nonstop. It might as well be glued to my body at this point.
I wish a big fat turkey was glued to me, because those are so delicious.
Can we talk about Thanksgiving?
This holiday is super cozy. You get off from school, or work, and usually they give you the weekend. You get to eat good food, and spend time with family members who hopefully get along together.
And the day after, Black Friday, you get to wait in long lines and buy stuff you really don’t need for discounted prices. I remember one time, two years ago, me and my friends went to a mega mall on Black Friday, and collectively spent so much money.
But those kinds of memories are really what it’s all about.
It was a great time. We’re going to recreate that this year.
Well, now that we’re adults and not stupid college kids, maybe we’ll tone the spending back a bit. But that’s really this season encapsulated, isn’t it?
I love December, but there’s something so special yet fleeting about November. It feels like this colder season always flies by. I should write about that eventually.
But yes, please, take this time of the year to spend it with people who you care about. Whether it’s doing any of these goofy activities, or not. November will be done soon.
So live it up while it’s here, you’ll be happy you did so.
