AWTR Show #902: Honeymoons, Hiccups, and Hope

For today’s Milspouse Empowerment Moment, Kathleen shares her journey to adopt a child. She likes to say this journey is filled with honeymoons, hiccups, and hope. Kathleen shares three reasons why military families make such great sportive parents.

Three C’s to Equip Milkids with Financial Literacy

One of the best things we can do for the next generation is equip them with financial literacy. This military spouse life comes with loads of responsibility: Managing HH6 in the absence of our service member, cross-country (sometimes global!) PCSes, childrearing, tribe-building,and so much more. It goes without saying that “adulting” can be challenging for anyone, but even more so for military spouses and our kiddos.

Purple Dandelion

Purple is the color of royalty and strength,

Dandelion flowers bloom and adapt at great lengths.

You radiate the essence of these pillars and more,

They represent how special you are, for much more is in store.

Don’t Mind Me

Oh hey! Don’t mind me. I just popped into the laundry room here for a little peace and quiet. Why the laundry room? You see, it’s right across from the pantry. And I just stole a piece of chocolate from my children’s candy bowl that is hidden in the pantry. They sometimes forget about their treats, but I don’t! And on days like today, I can’t help myself. I grab a piece and then sneak around the corner to enjoy it before my kids catch me. Then, sometimes I run out and grab another piece, or two, or three.

Depends on the day, you know?

Celebrate the Small Things

Have you ever celebrated a stuffed animal’s birthday? I never have, until a few nights ago.

One of my children recently asked how old one of his stuffed animals was. We came up with the most likely date of receipt (since I couldn’t remember exactly) and he then decided we should have a birthday party for Biscuit.

Travel Light with the Elvie Stride

Travel Light with the Elvie Stride

Editor’s note: This post is sponsored by Milk N Mamas Baby, which provides new mothers, military spouses, and female service members with breast pump and accessories that are entirely covered by TRICARE. They can even help you get your own Elvie Stride.

Back in April, Alika Schwartz, paralegal, proud Army spouse, mother of three, and seasoned traveler, shared her travel essentials with Army Wife Network. I loved her idea of hosting a goodbye dinner, and I couldn’t agree more about the necessity of capturing those fun family trip memories with photos. Today, I’d like to add my own suggestion for globetrotting moms: the Elvie Stride wearable breast pump.
