Mommy Blues: Can I Get a Connection?
Being a full-time mom is the greatest gift I could ask for. Some days may be hard, but generally, it turns around for the better. What no one seems to want to acknowledge is how lonely it is. In my case, feeling a bit extra lonely since my family just moved to a new area.
The house is beautiful and in a great location. The big plus about the property is that my husband and son enjoy living in the woods with land to run and play as much as they want. As for me, I prefer to have some friends to talk to other than my husband and toddler.
‘Comparison is the Thief of Joy’
In a quote attributed to Theodore Roosevelt, he said “Comparison is the thief of joy,” and during a season of life where many of us have been at home, feeling disconnected from family, maybe spending more time on our devices than we usually would, I think this is an important thing to keep in mind.
While Roosevelt didn’t have computers, television, or cell phones to occupy his attention, his quote has only become truer as time and technology has evolved.

It’s the last month of 2020. I’m making an educated guess here, but I’d say more than 75% of the people you know are ready for a new year. We might have to dig deep, but there are lists of positive things that 2020 has delivered to your doorstep. My personal favorite has been the slower pace and increased family time.

‘Twas the night before your job search, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, just your computer mouse. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, and companies are still hiring, so do not despair. The resumes weren’t generic but tailored instead, while visions of your dream job danced in your head.

December: A Time of Waiting and Tradition
Whew. Welcome, December. I’m not firmly in either the “It’s December already?” camp, nor the “Is it New Year’s yet?” one, but I know many people do have a propensity toward one direction.
Why? (Not a rhetorical question. I also ask this in a general sense. Not just this year.)

Military families understand how to move themselves, their family, and all their belongings across the country and across the world.
