Welcomes and Farewells: It’s a Spouse Thing!
Welcoming or saying goodbye to the unit’s command team spouse is a wonderful military tradition that has been repeated many times throughout generations.
10 Steps to a Debt-Free Holiday
My husband and I are committed to living debt free. For us, this means that even during the Christmas season, we don’t use credit cards or loans to purchase anything. Not even for the reward points that some companies offer on lines of credit. Still, we’re able to provide a nice holiday for our family.
So, how can you enjoy the holidays and remain debt free?
The Holiday Switch: From Stressed to Blessed
I eyed the calendar suspiciously. I blinked. That can’t be right. Didn’t we just do this like five minutes ago?! But as I looked again, I realized it to be true. The holidays are upon us.
Sure, that sounds a bit cliche, but seriously—it seems the older I get, the faster the pages of the calendar turn.
5 Unconventional Ways to Give Back
The season of giving is upon on, and this time of year tends to hit military families harder, especially if our service members won’t be around to celebrate with us. However, like most military relationships, our honeymoon eventually ended, and the dreaded “D word” popped up in our lives: a deployment was pending.
Here’s How to Save Energy this Winter
Nowadays, we’re doing everything we can to save money on our bills, especially our monthly utility costs that can skyrocket during both winter and summer months, in most cases. When it comes to saving electricity, many Americans are switching to more energy-efficient LED bulbs, which can last a whopping 25 times longer than traditional bulbs and use 75% less energy, according to the energy.gov website.
7 Reasons I’m Thankful For My Child
It’s November, and it’s time to start thinking about all the things I’m thankful for. There are so many things I could list this year, but one there’s one thing I’ve been especially grateful for—my child. I’m truly thankful for the opportunity and privilege to be a mother.
