Learning to breastfeed takes more time and patience than people imagine, and it can take a toll on a new mother’s mental health. If your partner is deployed or you’re adapting to a new base far from home, those feelings can be intensified..
Ways to Celebrate Military Spouse Appreciation Day
May is Military Appreciation Month but did you know that Friday, May 6th is Military Spouse Appreciation Day? The first Friday in May before Mother’s Day, was first known as Military Spouse Appreciation Day after being recognized by President Ronald Reagan in 1984. Recognitions and celebrations are typically held throughout military communities in the United States and Abroad.
Resiliency Workshops Give Military Kids Tools for Success
“Military kids say goodbye to more significant people in their lives than most do in their entire lifetime. Our kids are resilient, constantly making new friends and new connections while figuring out how to keep their old connections alive,” she said.
The Running Spouse
I could start with “What is a military spouse?” but I would soon be running (no pun intended) out of space. A military spouse must adapt to changing schedules and develop creative ways of doing things. There will be times when one parent must become both parents. They will have to say the following, “Be careful, and I will miss you, and I love you.”
Finding Success as a Remote Worker
Over the last two years, some of the most frequent comments I hear from clients are: “I really want a remote job,” or “I think remote work is the best option for my career.” Along with many other professionals around the world, my work environment changed drastically in March of 2020. I went from making a 20-minute commute, working in an office and collaborating with my coworkers daily to working remotely from home with a single day’s notice
Be “Extra” – Month of the Military Child 2022

On this day, I plot healthy pranks and jokes on loved ones not to mention that it’s one of my BFF’s birthdays (Happiest of Birthdays, beautiful Kat).
AWTR Show #885: Writing Your Own Milspouse Story
As a military spouse, it can be easy to feel the label the military gives you – dependent. Military spouses are used to putting our own aspirations on the back burner. But Karri L. Moser believes that as spouses, you should be writing your own milspouse story.
Coping Through Deployment
Sometimes life can be overwhelming. The constant demands of day to day living make it hard to catch our breath. Work, family, sports practices, being at home with small children, sick children and the list goes on and on. This can be especially exhausting when one partner is away training or deployed and “regular stuff” is left to be taken care of day in and day out. The days feel long and, at times, even like there is no end in sight.
Etiquette Suggestions for Military Children
As parents, teaching and being role models for our children lead to many exciting & challenging moments as we watch them transform into adults. As military families, there are many protocols and etiquette challenges that may be different than the basic childhood lessons of saying please, thank you, no ma’am, yes sir and the like.
