7 Back-to-School Books to Help You Enjoy the Silence

Like many families at this time of year, you might be sending your kids back to school. Now that they’ll be occupied with school during the day, activities, sports, and homework in the evening, you may find you have more time to kick back and relax. Why not do so with a good book?

Here is a list of books that you can add to your TBR pile for when the kids are busy:

Why Do I Run? Part 2

If the first set of comments on “Why Do I Run” didn’t inspire you, then maybe you will find some inspiration in the following. The individuals below are from the novice to the advanced. The common thread that ties them together is that they all were inspired to try something to see if they liked it. Once upon a time, there was a person I was training, and we met a couple of times a week after work. We would hit the track and walk and run only for a couple of miles. After about a month, Candy just came out of the blue and said, “I don’t like running.” Well, that caught me by surprise, but I listened. I shouldn’t have looked.

Some of my friends started sharing news stories about an “active shooter” in a local Walmart near our home here in El Paso and Fort Bliss.

The Myth of Fort Marshall

Last month, my mom called me and asked if we could ever be stationed at Fort Marshall. I thought for a minute and told her that there wasn’t a Fort Marshall in the Army and maybe she was confused with an Air Force base.

But I was wrong. Fort Marshall does exist…on the Lifetime television network. She was referring to the fictional base on the 2007 TV show Army Wives.
