Military Funerals and Memorials
Ceremoniously burying military leaders, soldiers, or heroic warriors is a tradition born to honor the fallen.
Sometimes Being “Good Enough” Is Plenty
Dear Mr. Dad: I’m a newly divorced single father. I hear a lot about how children in divorced families have all sorts of behavioral problems, do worse in school, abuse drugs, are depressed and anxious, and on and on. It’s scaring the heck out of me and makes me think that no matter what I do, my kids are doomed. I want to be an amazing dad and give my kids the best possible life. Isn’t there something I can do?
No. More. Whining.
Whining is not advocacy.
“Liking” a Facebook post does not make us activists. Even if we are passionate. Especially if we are misguided.
Strengthening a community takes more than spouting half truths or three-year-old stories and statistics. It takes savvy. It takes grace. It takes accuracy and open mindedness.
Bottom line? Advocacy takes work.
Real work.

Girls’ Time is Important
We all have busy lives, no matter what we fill them with. There’s a house to take care of, a marriage to tend to, kids to raise, a job or school (or both). Add in the other stuff, the day-to-day humdrum tasks that seem to fill up the rest of our waking hours, and it’s easy to see how we forget Girls’ Time.
How to Survive an International Flight with Kids
An international flight with kids is challenging. This is our first week back in the United States, and after two years of being away, it is an amazing feeling! This has been our most difficult move yet. Anything that could go wrong did go wrong.
