Expectations
Expectations have been the topic of conversation at my house this past week. What exactly about them? It’s true that my expectations are high. It’s inherent. I can’t change it; I’ve tried. Having high expectations is not such a bad thing. It’s what keeps me motivated. It’s what gives me goals. It’s why my laundry gets done. It’s why my business moves forward. You get the point.
Emotional Movement
One of the things we had to do to get ready for our move was take down the Rainbow playset we have in our backyard. You would have thought this would be a simple process, but it proved to be the most challenging thing about the move thus far.
It wasn’t the playset.
It was everything that surrounded it.
It was the first thing to “come down” and signify we were leaving our home.

I was given a quote this week by my new friend, Susan: “Friends are your chosen family.”
This is when I started to really think about how military families socialize differently.
It’s true that friends are our chosen family. I’d bet that most of your friends are your military friends. Mine are. I choose them; they choose me. Somehow, in this odd and challenging lifestyle, we bond as if we were always together, like family.
