Be “Extra” – Month of the Military Child 2022
Every year, I get “Extra” jazzed about the month of April for many reasons. The first is that we kick off the month with my favorite holiday, April Fool’s Day. On this day, I plot healthy pranks and jokes on loved ones not to mention that it’s one of my BFF’s birthdays (Happiest of Birthdays, beautiful Kat).

More Than the Boxes
Moving. PCSing. Relocating. Whatever you want to call it, the event (no matter how routine for some of us) is really not a singular activity. The whole process comes with much more than a pile of boxes containing everything you own.
EYB: USAG Ansbach, Germany
Located in the heart of beautiful Bavaria, U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach hosts forces from both the United States and other NATO countries, with Katterbach Kaserne just ten minutes away. Bavaria’s capital, Munich, has long been home to a flourishing art scene as well as the birthplace of Oktoberfest. Ansbach’s location within Bavaria also equates to a shorter distance to both the Czech Republic and Austria.
Coping Through Deployment
Sometimes life can be overwhelming. The constant demands of day to day living make it hard to catch our breath. Work, family, sports practices, being at home with small children, sick children and the list goes on and on. This can be especially exhausting when one partner is away training or deployed and “regular stuff” is left to be taken care of day in and day out. The days feel long and, at times, even like there is no end in sight.
Mission Ready and Confident in your Preventive Health
Taking a proactive role in one’s own health is a central part of the wellness routine for many. It is part of the “growing up” experience for children in the United States, and grown-ups consider it a key factor in their “adulting” practice. It can save lives, eradicate certain diseases, and improve overall health of the surrounding communities.
