Three Things for Thanksgiving
I love thanksgiving. It’s a great holiday to gather around with family, friends, and loved ones and stuff your face full of tasty food. What more can an Italian like myself want?
Always Remember the Fifth of November
It was about 2:30 p.m. on the 5th of November in 2009. I worked at a school in Killeen just outside the main gates of Fort Hood. A parent walked into our classroom to pick up her child. I was the teacher’s aide in the classroom. The parent walked up to the teacher and said, “There’s been a shooting on post.”
Relieving Stress with Pumpkin Bread
One of my favorite things to do when I am stressed is bake. It tends to calm my soul. Focusing on something other than reality for a short time is what I need to remain sane. Baking provides that escape. My current recipe for stress relief is pumpkin bread. Pumpkin is one of my favorite fall flavors, and today, I’m going to share with you my Aunt’s Perfect Pumpkin Bread.
Something a Little “Supernatural”
Halloween is so close I can taste it. It’s not my most favorite of holidays, but there is something about it that is near and dear to my heart. Now, I am going to be a fangirl and sound a little bit obsessed, but I literally cannot help myself. It was only a matter of time before I decided to blog about this, but given the wonderful month of October, I think this post’s subject matter is quite appropriate and perfect considering.
Fall Adventure List (With Printable!)
Take a deep breath in through the nose. That’s right, a good, wholesome whiff. Do you smell that? It’s fall!
Take Control of Your Health this October
While most people look forward to October for Halloween and the changing of seasons, apple picking, fall baking, or what have you, I embrace October as a great and powerful reminder that life is fleeting and meant to be lived to the fullest.
In our house, Breast Cancer Awareness Month has always been important. When I was small, my maternal grandmother was diagnosed and passed away from a second and very long battle with breast cancer. Years later, my paternal grandmother developed and battled breast cancer multiple times, until it finally took her life last year.
The Choosy Student’s 10-Point Checklist
Going back to school is very exciting, but it is also a huge investment of time, effort, and money, so you have to make sure you choose wisely. But all that pressure can be a bit overwhelming, perhaps even a little paralyzing. To help you get started, we’ve put together our Choosy Student’s 10-point Checklist!
