Travel Light with the Elvie Stride

Travel Light with the Elvie Stride

Editor’s note: This post is sponsored by Milk N Mamas Baby, which provides new mothers, military spouses, and female service members with breast pump and accessories that are entirely covered by TRICARE. They can even help you get your own Elvie Stride.

Back in April, Alika Schwartz, paralegal, proud Army spouse, mother of three, and seasoned traveler, shared her travel essentials with Army Wife Network. I loved her idea of hosting a goodbye dinner, and I couldn’t agree more about the necessity of capturing those fun family trip memories with photos. Here’s How We Can Honor Veterans and Caregivers

Here’s How We Can Honor Veterans and Caregivers

This month, Military Family Appreciation Month, as we honor those who served (both past and present) as well as military families, I’ve also been thinking a lot about the caregivers.

Gabriela Trana: An Outstanding Athlete

Gabriela Trana: An Outstanding Athlete

Sometimes it takes an outsider to recognize the talents of a person. A coach can provide the direction and the training plans, but it will take the athlete themselves to execute the plans. It takes years to see the full results, and you can expect there will be setbacks. Gabriela Trana is an international athlete who was born in Alajuela, Costa Rica. Growing up, she never dreamed she would be a flag bearer for the Costa Rican team during the opening ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

Trana, however, is a two-time Olympian.

She’s a three-time finisher of the Army Ten-Miler (2009- 3rd 59:08, 2010 – 4th 58:31, and 2012 – 10th 58:25), and she’s chosen to share her running philosophy with you.

Celebrating Holidays: Military Style

Celebrating Holidays: Military Style

This year will be the 16th Thanksgiving my husband and I have been married and the eighth one we’ve had to celebrate separately because of geographic separation. While our sons and I look forward to spending Thanksgiving in Dallas with dear friends while my husband is deployed, it reminds me of how our military lifestyle has shaped and molded us into what spending the holidays together looks like for military families. You make the most of whatever situation you’re in at the moment!
