Did you know… Mission: Milspouse published its 3000th blog post in 2023 and is still growing!
Pinkies Up, Ladies and Gents; Let’s Enjoy Afternoon Tea Together!
Surrounded by the nostalgia and tradition of the elegant Thames Foyer at the Savoy Hotel in London, Ginger and her sister recently enjoyed an afternoon of tea.
‘Running is What I Do, Not Who I Am’
An inspirational quote which helps Sarah Cummings to stay focused: “What the mind can conceive, and the heart can believe, the body will achieve.” Sarah made a transition from the ice to the roads. Sarah embodies the term resilience through the challenges and adjustments which she has made in her life.
Take a few minutes to read the story of Sarah.
EYB: Joint Base San Antonio
In this particular blog, we will be showcasing information related to Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, Texas, known as simply Fort Sam Houston by Army folks.
JBSA is a giant installation that encompasses Fort Sam Houston and Lackland Air Force Base and Randolph Field. The joint move was part of the Base Realignment and Closure Commission, which felt a combined effort would eliminate overlap from the three closely situated installations. It is the largest join base in the Department of Defense. It’s home to the Brooke Army Medical Center, which has provided crucial care to service members wounded in combat in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Don’t Trick Me—Milspouse Edition
The best (and by best, I mean most hilarious) lunch I’ve ever had from the commissary was macaroni and cheese. I’ve gotta hand it to these folks, really, because they got me pretty good. Now, if you know me, or have known me for more than five minutes, you know macaroni and cheese is my favorite food. I eat a lot of it and often…a habit I’ve had for years.
How Do I Approach Employment Gaps on My Resume?
It’s that time again. Your service member received orders for another PCS, and on the neverending to-do list that accompanies the move is “find a new job.” You feel the dread and the flood of worry about having yet another gap on your resume.
I must have PCS on the brain because my family’s next relocation is just a few months around the corner. Thankfully, I can take my laptop and my job with me this time, but I’ve been in that uncertain situation before. It can be daunting to face job searching as a military spouse when we relocate so often.
Military Life This or That
have been loving the different “this-or-that” posts that have been roving around social media. You know the ones I’m referring to, right?
Do you like coffee or tea?
Mountains or beach?
Sweaters and boots, or flip flops and shorts?
As a social media manager, I use this-or-that posts to remind clients about options. And it works. People love to give you their preferences and tell you exactly what they want.
New Year’s Resolutions
It’s that time of year where we pause our hectic lives and press the imaginary reset button. Of course, we know those reset buttons by their more familiar name, New Year’s resolutions.
Time to say goodbye to the could-have-beens and the should-have-beens for the current year. Time to look forward to the what-could-bes and what-should-bes. I’m talking about a new year. And in a year in which so much was canceled and delayed due to COVID-19, we are all looking forward to the first day of the new year.
