“Bye, Bye, Bye: For the Milspouse Left Behind
Bye, bye, bye. Cute when it’s an NSYNC song, heart-wrenching when it’s your Milspouse reality.
Developing a Battle Rhythm to Manage Conflict
love training. I love receiving new information and analyzing how and where to apply this newfound skill set. I’m a life-long learner and thoroughly enjoy facilitating training. One training that I particularly enjoy facilitating is Conflict Management. Leaders with communication skills such as facilitation, mentorship, and resolution are more likely to engage and thrive in managing conflict in their workplaces and at home.
Disagreement and challenge are inevetible and can result in conflict. However, conflict presents advantages of communication growth within organizations; individuals within organizations are shaped by their own values, beliefs, work ethic, perceptions, and behaviors. Possessing and exercising the skills and mindset in order to engage is crucial to conflict management. On the other hand, shying away from conflict allows issues to fester, which can affect the integrity of an organization and impose negativity within individuals
Don’t Tell Your Spouse
My husband recently returned from a deployment. During that time I found myself enjoying a new schedule and a few new habits. At nigh,t after I put my two children to bed, if I didn’t have work to do, I would enjoy a cup of coffee, a not so healthy snack, and pick a movie that would inevitably make me cry.
Sharpening the Saw
No, this isn’t about household tools.

Fly Your Flag High: Etiquette Tips
It is a time for patriotism.
As a military spouse, I am thrilled to see pride in our country. Everywhere you turn, you see bumper stickers, yellow ribbons, and flags. Our national symbol—an American flag—we fly them, but do we know how to properly take care of our flag?
Isle of View
My grandparents are adorable.
Grandpa had a big smile and loved overalls, living a country life, and Boy Scouts of America.
Grandma was an archeologist that participated in numerous digs in South America and the southern United States. She barely reached 5 feet tall and would stretch on her tippy toes and eventually had to climb onto a step stool to mark how tall each of her 60 grandchildren had gotten when we came to visit.
At some point in their love story, they coined the phrase, “Isle of View.”
Thinking About Living Overseas?
Maybe you thought about living overseas before you had kids.
Maybe you thought about living overseas before you were married.
Maybe you thought about living overseas before you stopped dreaming.
What this piece is not about are those Facebook and Instagram posts you’ve seen from your friends stationed or living overseas where the entire family is standing in front of the Eiffel Tower or in the Neuschwanstein Castle upon which the Disney castle is modeled (see featured image). If living overseas was filled with those type of moments every second of every day, then who wouldn’t want to live overseas?
